Scenic Ecology Bus Tour 9/18
Sep 18 - Sep 19, 2022
Sunday, September 18, 3:00 – 6:00 PM
Meet at Fall River Visitor Center on the eastern side of RMNP.
Rocky Mountain National Park is lively and full of energy during the fall months as Elk begin to rut and the Aspens turn to a fire yellow. Sweeping views of valleys turning to 10,000 foot peaks are the backdrop to some of the most beautiful wildlife and flora our country has to offer. This bus tour will bring your family or group through the Park with multiple stops for educational outings and short hikes.
Afternoon trips will bring Elk to the forefront. The evenings are alive with rutting bull Elk as their mating season in full effect. This tour will bring you through Fall River entrance that leads through the park and to Sheep Lakes where the valley is alive with bovine, often filled with Big Horn Sheep or the non-native Moose. The excursion proceeds up over Deer Ridge junction and into Bear Lake Corridor to see the lively valley of Moraine Park. Large Elk herds are often seen in Moraine Park and sweeping views of the divide make this the best place to end the tour with a snack.
Level I: Short-distanced walks on maintained trail and use of accessible buildings
