Hike with a Naturalist: Calypso Cascade

Enjoy a moderate 3.6 mile hike through the Wild Basin area to visit Calypso Cascades. Hike with our naturalist guide past Copeland Falls, Upper and Lower Falls. This nature walk takes us through lush woods along the North Saint Vrain river to the cascades of Cony Creek tumbling down from Pear Lake. This is a family-friendly out and back hike with 360 ft of total elevation gain. Expect to be on the trail for about 2 hours with plenty of breaks.

We’ll meet in downtown Estes Park and travel together in the RMC vehicle to the trailhead. Entrance fees to Rocky Mountain National Park and transportation are included in your registration fee.

Participants should dress in warm layers, with gloves and a warm hat, and wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots. Be prepared for snow on on the trail! We strongly recommend traction devices for your shoes, such as micro-spikes or YakTrax. These are available to rent or purchase at the Estes Park Mountain Shop or the Estes Park YMCA Mountain Center.

Please bring a backpack with plenty of water and snacks.
