Description
Red Foxes are the largest of the true foxes and close relatives to coyotes, wolves, and domestic dogs. Their fur coloring can range from deep red-orange to tan or gray, but are distinguished from other foxes by white chests and white-tipped tails. Red Foxes are omnivores, eating grasses and berries as well as preying on small mammals and insects. Mostly nocturnal, they prefer to inhabit wooded areas, prairies, and farmlands.
